It seems that this is not just a myth or prophecy, as it is already happening.

In focus

The Deluge

The Deluge represents a part of historic public building, a metaphor for human culture being criticaly submereged by sea level rise.

It seems that the cataclystic height of water does not evoke horror, but a new aesthetic of submereged world. It acts like the building is infused with the element of water.

Mixed media (layered glass, fibreboard, paint, paper),
dim 30x40x6.5cm.

Work in progress

I use the same historical building this time, but in a different manner, yet still in an inseparable connection with the dominant element of water.

It's an exploration of the boundary between culture and nature and the impact of humans on the environment.
